OCTOBER:
WORKFLOW. WORKFLOW. WORKFLOW
MAX REPORT:
KO MARUYAMA

Adobe MAX was in Los Angeles again this year, and was another great event. Wall to wall sessions from artists, designers, developers, business leaders and creative thinkers, the conference was 3-5 days (depending on your involvement) of mind swelling info.
Most sessions that I attended (it's impossible to attend them all) were of the "You had to be there" ilk.
However, there were some which inspired me to rethink some of the Adobe workflow gear that I already have in my arsenal. I'll challenge you to think about some of these yourself.
Photoshop, Illustrator, and you. Workflow tips and tricks for 3D artists and print designers. Let's work together!

NATALIE EAGAN
Visual effects artist Natalie Eagan is proud to teach a new pipeline work flow at the DMA/LA. This work flow includes topics such as: building your own server system for achieving massive computational power in a small space, taking HDRI lighting on the go and getting good footage for tracking in Syntheyes, modeling in Zbrush R2 using new features like dynamesh and shadow box, using Auto-Retopology and Auto UV's in 3d Coat v3.5 along with 8k per pixel texture directly on a low poly model. These skills, combined with Cinema 4D 13's new character tools and physical render engine, can give you the ability to easily make photo real creatures come to life in live action footage. Natalie is a VFX specialist working in Los Angeles she has both a Bachelors in Computer Imaging and a Graduate in Web and Graphic Design.
AND.... PIZZA.
Yes, we'll try to get more creative with food when it's possible. Pizza is easy to get, easy to eat, and easy to modify yourself if you don't like the toppings.
See you on Tuesday.
SPECIAL THANKS TO VOLUNTEER MEMBERS

Digital Media Artists \ Los Angeles
Digital Media Artists / Los Angeles (DMA/LA) is an association for professionals creating imagery for video, film, and other media using desktop tools. MGLA was formed in August 1997 through the merger of several previously-existing groups. DMA/LA is an extention of that - continuing in 2008. DMA/LA's area of discussions are not restricted to a specific hardware or software solution, understanding that an artist often has to employ 2D, 3D, and other digital tools to realize their vision - and that artistic inspiration can be universal.
